Day 10: ICU Graduation Day

Mom was worn out today after a couple of physical staying-in-the-hospital-too-long related setbacks that kept her awake for far too many hours. I'm assuming the result of this exhaustion was what we got today: less coherent in her speech (anything she said was hard to understand and jumbled) and less time awake. Luckily, however, Mom has been moved out of the ICU! She is now in intermediate care and is getting bugged by nurses far less. They doing far fewer neuro checks (you should see the bruises from how many times they had to pinch and poke my poor Mom). But she is now settling into her nice, new room with a view.

Today though feels like a big step back from the Mom I chatted and chatted and chatted with two days ago. Hoping and praying this is one step back with many, many more steps forward to come.
